Function or Purpose

This cell was designed to demonstrate the benefits of Smart manufacturing in an industry-relevant environment.

Description

The injection moulding cell is based on an industry-relevant Arburg injection moulding which incorporates in mould temperature and pressure sensors, thermal camera, material conveying equipment, robotics, metrology and A production tracking system provided by 'Smart Factory'. The unit can be used as a whole or in elements to demonstrate the integration of individual components into a complete intelligent manufacturing system.

Applications/Uses in an Industrial Setting

Industry can utilise the cell as a training tool, through collaborative research or to test new elements prior to set-up in their own facility.

Injection moulding, Material conveying, Vision systems, Robotics, Metrology, Production tracking, retrofitting machinery to enable product tracking.
