Tell us a bit about your research...
At present, I am looking into providing security measures in the network domain. For example, in autonomous vehicles that have the provision of updating the in-built software (similar to the update of mobile phone software), I am trying to provide solutions so that the software update can be performed in a secure manner.
What did you study as an Undergraduate?
During my undergraduate, I did Bachelors in Engineering in the field of Electronics and Communication from Asansol Engineering College, West Bengal, India.
What made you decide to go into research?
I was always interested in science and new discoveries, innovations attracted me. All these factors were my motivation to indulge myself in doing research.
What do you enjoy most about being a PhD Student or Post-Doc?
The thing which I enjoyed most during my PhD as well as during my Post-Doc is learning and gaining knowledge through a collaborative approach. Also, getting recognized for the work one through publications in good venues. Another thing which I enjoyed during my Post-Doc was providing a solution to an industry based problem that was further submitted as a patent.
What could your research be used for?
My research could be used for thwarting cyber-physical threats.
Do you have any advice for someone who is thinking about a career or research in STEM?
The advice that comes to my mind is to be open and figure out what you want to do with a concrete background plan and have the hunger to learn and develop skills.
