Professor Brian Donnellan is Vice President of Engagement and Innovation and Professor of Management Information Systems at Maynooth University. He is a Funded Investigator in Confirm (the Smart Manufacturing Research Centre) and in Connect (the Future Networks and Communications Research Centre). He is also a Co-Principal Investigator in Lero (the Software Research Institute) and in Enable (the Smart Cities Research Institute).

Before joining NUI Maynooth he was a faculty member in the National University of Ireland, Galway. Prior to becoming an academic, he spent 20 years working in the ICT industry. He is an expert evaluator for the European Commission and has been guest and associate editor of several leading IS journals including Journal of IT, Journal of Strategic Information Systems and MIS Quarterly.
