CONFIRM Events 2023

After a very busy year in 2022, with CONFIRM running and hosting over 20 different events in the Industry, Academic and Public space, the Centre has a busy schedule already lined up for the first four months of 2023. Below is a flavour of some of them.

CONFIRM Smart 4.0 ul@work event

On 8th February, CONFIRM SMART 4.0 along with UL@Work will host a Digital Mechatronics Industry Showcase which will feature a presentation on the new BE/ME in Digital Mechatronics Engineering which introduces Industry 4.0 into the curriculum. It will discuss how the new course will both benefit and fit into the industry ecosystem.

CONFIRM Industry Event

CONFIRM will host its own Industry Day event on Wednesday 22nd March. The objective of the event is to showcase CONFIRM as a world leading Centre for Smart Manufacturing Research and to show Industry through talks, case studies and a site tour, the value of collaborating with CONFIRM on ongoing industry research projects.

Engineers Week – March

On Friday 3rd March, CONFIRM will be hosting and running an EPE event to support the Engineers Week initiative and promote the importance of engineering amongst secondary school children. It is a STEPS Transition Year programme run for Engineers week in collaboration with the school of Engineering from the faculty of Science and Engineering in UL.

Cobots.ie/Keyense

On 7th March CONFIRM will be hosting an event for Cobots.ie and Keysense. Cobots.ie are the leading supplier of collaborative robots and accessories in Ireland and Keyence are a leader in the development and manufacturing of industrial automation and inspection equipment worldwide. It will be a very interactive event, where they will be showcasing a range of robotic demonstrators across industry sectors and will answer questions on automation products.

Research Week

CONFIRM will be contributing to UL Research week 2023 by hosting a number of events throughout the week from 24th – 28th April. This will include research themed panel discussions and Centre tours to view our ongoing industry and hub research projects.
